Blutfrisch aus England importiert, wo Regisseur Neil Marshall (DOG SOLDIERS) der Beleuchtungsmittelindustrie wahrscheinlich Rekordumsätze beschaffen wird, erzählt dieser knochenhart ausgekochte Horror- thriller von sechs Abenteuerinnen, die sich zu einem kleinen Caving-Urlaub treffen.

Als während der Höhlenwanderung der einzige Ausgang von einem Geröllrutsch blockiert wird, bleibt den Frauen nichts anderes übrig, als nach einem anderen Weg ins Freie zu suchen. Eine Expedition ins Dunkle beginnt. Langsam nagen erste Zweifel an den sehr unterschiedlichen Freundinnen. Wie sie zu ihrem Entsetzen feststellen, sind sie auch nicht alleine im Untergrund, der mehr und mehr zu einem Vorhof der Hölle für die bald erbarmungslos Gejagten mutiert. Was auch immer sich in den Tiefen herumtreibt – es kann hervorragend riechen und hören – und es hat HUNGER...

On a caving trip gone bloody wrong, six women battle through a harsh underground world, pitting their strength and determination against each new challenge. But there is something else lurking under the earth, a race of monstrous creatures hidden from the light, devolved to perfectly live in the dark ... As the women realise they have become prey, they are forced to unleash their most primal instincts to face the hungry fiends. But, as old wounds break open and loyalties disintegrate, the women realise the horrible truth – that they have most to fear from one another.
