I WANT TO BE A VAMPIRE is about a girl who, bored out of her mind with the world, desires to join the undead, but is thwarted by a real vampire who tells her maybe that is not such a good idea.
“For a lot of young people, their interest in vampires is more than a fad“, explains director Ulli Lommel. “It’s a state of mind, an alternative life style. This trend is reflected not just in movies and games, but in fashion and music, with provocative performers like Marilyn Manson now bursting out from the sub-culture into mainstream pop.“
